Commitment to Your Success

Academic Support is part of the Center for Integrated Advising and Careers. All of the offices in the Centerwork together to support studentsin being successful at Warren Wilson and achieving their goals.

Academic success at Warren Wilson College is dynamic, personal and cross-disciplinary. It includes one-on-one tutoring, writing support from our Writing Studio, academic coaching and time management techniques. We also work closely with students seeking accommodations to develop plans setting you up for success.

The Academic Support Center helps you become a more effective, engaged and intentional learner. You’ll work collaboratively and one-on-one with support staff to achieve academic success by:

gaining an understanding of your learning behaviors
mastering learning strategies that can be applied to general knowledge acquisition or specific course work
getting connected with campus resources to assist you throughout your learning experiences at Warren Wilson College

College Academic Strategies Course

The focus for the College Academic Strategies course is to explore the learning terrain through an individualized learning process. You’ll be paired with an instructor who will work with you to define and address areas of need and interest that will enhance your college academic experience. Topics covered might include goal setting and prioritizing, time management, focus strategies, exam preparation, and course scheduling support.

Our Writing Studio

The Warren Wilson College Writing Studio is a non-judgmental, focused, and productive place where you can bring your scholarly or creative writing projects. Our work crew of trained students provides assistance in every step of the writing process, whether you want to brainstorm for a short paper or come in weekly to share portions of your senior capstone. Consider us an extra set of eyes and ears and our studio a place to share ideas and get unstuck.
